Do you think online poker sites can tell whether or not you're using programs such as Hold 'Em Indicator or Tournament Indicator? Of course these programs are legal and do nothing more than calculate odds and record hand history.
The reason I ask this is I do think online poker is rigged a little (lol), but I think that it being rigged works equally to the player's advantage. Can PokerStars or some of the other big sites tell if you're using an Indicator program?
Oh, and here's one of the reasons why I think it's rigged a little. Take a look at the FTOPS VIII final table video. EVERY all-in is won by the bigger stack. EVERY SINGLE ONE, whether the big stack was the favorite pre-flop or not. I notice that big stacks will win a larger % of the time on PStars toward the end of a large MTT as well. |

For sure Pstars and other site can tell if you use software like an indicator
They can also tell if you use illegal software, like a pokerbot
I think all pokersites are rigged for a bit in favour of the donks so they keep playing and deposite money, the moment bad players cant win on a site they gonna leave and that kills the pokersite.
But i dont think a pokersite is rigged in favour of big stacks.... |

lol, online sites rigged?
If that were true, then they are effectively out of business if someone provides evidence to back up that claim. Personally i wouldn't want to risk my whole company when i'd still make a lot from the people coming to the site for other reasons - good loyalty scheme, big name players etc.
And what you suggest is kinda contradictory... IF the bad players are frequently given 'miracle' cards in a huge conspiracy, then does that not imply that they are winning players in the long run, despite frequently putting their money in bad?
And arjen, your even funnier lol.... if the donks make more draws than normal (ie rigged) then why are they depositing? . If someone put their money in as a 30% dog, you have a 20% edge over them in this hand. If its rigged in favour of the dinks, in which the real odds are more like 40% (or maybe even over 50%), then that means they deposit less money onto the site, and we have more of a situation where, despite getting their money in good, the fact that the site is rigged means that neither the good player nor the bad player could expect to make loads of money given the insignificance of the edge due to it being rigged. And thus less deposits onto the site, and we get a stale pool of money which is effectively swapped between players in the long run, and as the withdrawals are made, the site slowly dies.
Or do you mean that its rigged to make action hands? In which case, i'd ask you to go count up the number of action hands you've seen in the last 1,000 hands (ie where someone has like a set vs set). Then go get a deck, deal out 10 hands and a board and do it about 100 times and make a note on how many times you see a big hand.
Oh and yea, they know. I almost got banned from stars ages ago for testing a bot. |

NO way rigged!!
Bad beats are apart of poker,i get them so do some villians in hands with me..
There is asimple reason for good players noticing more bad beats against them rather than for them and is cause good players get there money in with the correct odds calling stations dont.
A site wont risk there company over fixing small stakes poker. And if they lose a mug there is always another signing up. |

I used to think sites were rigged, but the better I've become I've noticed that its just real bad players catching thier chases, where as a good player knows when to lay it down. On smaller sites I can play the board more rather than my hand and do quite well overall. But on Stars nobody folds, at least not at the smaller stakes, so I have to play a hell of alot tighter. I've had my monster hands called by any 2 cards you can think of, and sometimes they hit. They'll chase Ace /rag to the river to kill my KK's. Small stakes on a large site are a bingo game, thats why it seems rigged. |
